What is Composting and Why Composting
What is composting?

Composting is the process of mixing livestock manure, straw, agricultural and forestry waste and other materials together and adding fermenting bacterium to make the materials ferment and ripen.

Why composting?

Livestock manure, straw and other materials contain harmful bacteria, etc. After high temperature fermentation, it can kill harmful bacteria and reduce the occurrence of root diseases.

There are often grass seeds in livestock manure, especially in cattle and sheep, and if applied directly, grass seeds can lead to weed growth. After high temperature fermentation, it can kill the weed seeds in the manure.

Unfermented material applied to the soil will automatically start to ferment, then the high temperature from fermentation will cause root burning in crops. Fully decomposed material, the temperature will not be rising, and can be applied into the soil with confidence.
